Tabla Artist


Shridhar is introduced in music field as a tabla artist from his native Sirsi,Uttar Kannada dist.He started the study of Tabla and santoor concept earlier with Vidwan Mohan Hegde and the Vocal with Vidwan M.T.Bhagawath.After completing his graduation in music he went to Pt.Raveendra Yavagal of Bangalore for further training.He is gaining the technics of Vocal music from well known Hindustani Vocalist Vid.Poornima Bhat Kulkarni.

Shridhar has completed Hindustani Vidwath. He has pursued Post Graduate in music from I.K.S.Vishwa Vidyalaya,Khairagarh(C.G), Madyapradesh

He served as Tabla Lecturer in M.E.S.College,Sirsi (N.K) and he also worked as examiner for K.S.E.E.music examinations.

In 2002 he turned to Bangalore for his music activities and settled there only.

He is running music classes in various branches in Bangalore city under the name of JHENKAR MUSIC FOUNDATION (R). This foundation is also engaged in organizing the music concerts,bands,fusions so on.

He performed Tabla Solo recitals and accompanied with many more noted artists in several concerts in various places. He performed for AIR and Doordarshan.

He started performing on self designed Santoor recently named “SUR SANTOOR” which is having many technical advantages for various forms of music.

Shridhar is proving himself as a good artist and offering his best efforts to fulfill the real necessity of Santoor players where the Santoor artists are very less in the number due to its difficult playing nature.

Features & Details:

1) With the newly invented attachments, the strings that are tied to the nails can be tuned with the help of your fingers, without the help of keys.

2) For privies tuning and sustenance of tuning, the separate bridges has been replaced by bridges with a common base.

3) In orders to better the sustenance of notes, melody of note and volume, the dimensions have been altered. This makes it easier to tune & use the instrument to your convenience.

4) The two rows of bridges that are placed adjacent to the two rows of bridges that exists in the the conventional Santoor, helps the player obtain one extra Octave i.e, 12 Swaras of Mandra Sapthak”.

5) Without affecting the sound quality of the strings and in order to suit the modern digital equipments, a high quality pick up mikes are provided.

6) A protective case of suitable dimension is also provided.
